Going Green: Save Cash on Your Power Bill?

Okay so it's a bit of a no brainer by the sounds of it, but those of us living in the Southern Hemisphere can save a little on our cooling costs by simply covering up our Northern facing windows, according to green-living guru, Chris Ferreira.
"Every square metre of window exposed to the summer sun is the equivalent of leaving a one-bar electric heater switched on in your home."
Makes a lot of sense I guess, given that just a few weeks ago I accidentally left a sheet of glass on the front lawn and within an hour or so the sun had well and truly cooked the grass. So whether you're in to the green stuff or not, with the cost of electricity these days it might be worth taking a look at those windows.

Camira Kitchen

This is a little project we are working on out at Camira. The existing kitchen wasn't too bad, but the splashback was a little painful on the eyes, so out it came. Add Image

A few noggins to support three new shelves and a new porcelain tile splashback and this project will be well on it's way to completion.

The existing noggins will have to be packed out a little to help support the extra weight of the shelves.

The floor tiles replacing the vinyl flooring have made a world of difference.
